Lukshon is an exquisite and modern take on authentic South-East Asian Cuisine and its wonderfully diverse ingredients. The challenge for this small Asian restaurant was to create a modern space with defined areas, each with their own sufficient illumination; concealing the fixtures and giving the owners control over the space. The design also had to meet California’s strict Title 24 energy code and work within an tight equipment budget.
The space is physically and visually divided into four areas: dining room, communal dining, kitchen and bar. It was important that the dining room be intimate, while the other spaces more lively, but visually balanced.
