The Urban School of San Francisco is located in the heart of the city’s historic Haight-Ashbury district. With a very limited budget and an aggressive construction schedule, the design team was tasked with developing a simple, contemporary, cost-effective lighting concept with an emphasis on sustainability. Direct conversations with the school helped inform lighting strategies early in the design process. The desire for simplicity was realized through the selection of various linear-profile LED fixtures, as well as an extremely user-friendly lighting control system which complies with California’s Title-24 energy code.
