This new renovation for the student dining facility aimed to bring natural daylight from the outside in by introducing several 4’x4’ skylights that are presented in the interior ceiling through square splayed pyramids. L-shaped fixtures were located on the skylight shafts to give the impression of light from above. Because the main visual element was the splayed ceiling and skylights, secondary lighting and accents were kept simple: simple lines of light are deployed above counters and exposed kitchens to increase light levels.
